It’s going to be a busy weekend. In just a few minutes, The Electrician and I will pull out of the driveway and head for Jasper. Folks who have spent time in the Canadian Rockies know why I have a giddy smile on my face right now: we are blessed to live such a brief drive from one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

On our trip out of town, we’ll be dropping Leroy off at a friend’s house one neighbourhood over. She has a slight mouse problem, and a kitty might be the reinforcement her rodent control program needs. Also, Leroy adores her and will have a much better time than he would spending two days home with no one to cuddle. I’m also lending my friend the Dyson to make sure any gnarly little mouse turds disappear forever from her carpet and upholstery.

Then, we’ll stop off in Leduc to drop Sherman at the kennel, where he’ll play with his canine friends and come home blissfully exhausted (for all our sakes). He will be the last stop other than pee breaks and a bite of dinner somewhere along the route.

I’m been working myself into a trench lately, as you know. September has been overwhelmingly busy many days, and I’m grateful for some time away with my sweetie. Keep an eye out for photos of the scenery here at Blue Speckled Pup.
