The Electrician and I are celebrating two years together today. You may applaud if you like, but I’m cheering more than enough for all you folks out there in the blogiverse. We went out for Korean BBQ and to Wal-Mart for cat litter and Diet Pepsi. Sometimes romance smells like garlic and grilled meats, and finds a really good sale on Golden Grahams. The server at the BBQ house must have sensed it was a special occasion, since she brought me my Shirley Temple on the house.

It’s funny how much the quality of a person’s life changes when she chooses to surround herself with those who build her up rather than breaking her down. Spending my time with a person who always sees–and encourages–the best in me is keeping me on the path toward becoming the best possible evolution of myself, and I’m grateful for the unconditional love and support I get from The Electrician.
He showed up today with flowers for me, which is not unusual by any stretch, but is always a wonderful treat. Lately, he’s on a kick where he goes to the florist near my house and hand picks all the stems he wants to put in a bouquet for me. It’s extra sweet and pretty old-fashioned, which I adore.

I am a lucky woman. There are people who go their entire lives without feeling as loved as I feel every day.
