Yesterday, I made my 150th post here at Blue Speckled Pup. It’s amazing to me how these little pieces I write every day have slowly accumulated to such a high total. So far, I haven’t missed a day of blogging on my one post per day for a year plan, even though I had surgery on my dominant hand and took a holiday to the Shuswap (but not in the same week). I’m dedicated to this thing, folks.
I often read other bloggers’ work, and lately I’ve been enjoying the giggles over at MOV’s blog. Her latest post is numbered 485, which sort of puts my 151 to shame, but when I think about the numbers, it’s about where I’ll be a year from today if I maintain my current writing pace. There have certainly been days, particularly when my school schedule is really hopping, where I do not feel like blogging, but I generally have something to say once I sit down with my Macbook and a Diet Pepsi. Writing has become part of my routine, so much so that I currently blog more often than I floss –please don’t tell my dentist.
I have a slowly growing base of readers, and a number of people stop by accidentally after googling something I’ve addressed. Strangely enough, one of the busiest posts has been my discussion of what happened when I poured a little bleach in my dishwashing water. I wrote that one because I was peeved with Palmolive, and apparently I’m not the only one. Regardless of why or how readers show up here at my wee blog, I’m thrilled to welcome them to my teeny spot of the internet.
As far as blogs go, I’m well aware mine is very small potatoes. Truthfully, it’s not even potatoes yet: perhaps Blue Speckled Pup is one of those little goobers that sprouts out of the eyes of potatoes that get forgotten in the cupboard. Whatever I am, I’m slowly taking root. Thanks so much for joining me here: you rock.
