Crisp Mountain Air

I’ve been to Jasper, Alberta dozens of times in my life, but I’ve ever been in the winter on a weekend as beautiful as this one. Check out the view from my hotel balcony this morning.

Nice, right: especially the orange plastic pylon.

It’s above zero here in the Canadian Rockies; that’s pretty much unheard of in early February. The Electrician and I went for a drive to Athabasca Falls. Our jaunt actually ended up being a drive followed by a light hike, since the road into the falls is closed this time of year. On the way, I pulled over, scrambled up the snow piled along the highway, and took this photo:

Wowee. As always, my photos have not seen Photoshop since I don’t have a clue how to use it. This is pure, beautiful Alberta.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with my date in the hot tub.
