The Electrician and I woke up this morning in Jasper, and went for a drive to Pyramid Lake, where his sister was married a few years back. I’ve never been there in the winter, and we took a little walk around on Pyramid Island to enjoy the views.

After we finished at the lake, a timeline which was basically set by how long it took me to get chilled, we returned to the little mountain town of Jasper to pick up something I saw when we puttered in the shops on Saturday. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I knew my life wouldn’t be complete without it.

From a distance, this little jacket looked like a swiss dot pattern, which definitely caught my attention in the store. I think wee polka dots are feminine and cute as heck. Then I got closer and realized this is the geekiest, most perfect sweater ever for a nerd like me. Burton made it and is now officially my favourite clothing manufacturer.
Are you ready? Brace yourself.

Let me state for the record that I am vehemently against the use of all caps for more than a brief phrase in online communication. I am also firmly opposed to the overuse of exclamation points. Adding more doesn’t make your sentence more emphatic: it just makes you look like a goon who doesn’t understand punctuation. That said, if it were okay to use giant capital letters and a zillion exclamation marks, I would. I’m feeling darn worked up over this garment.
Can you believe I found a sweater with semi-colons and full colons printed all over it? Miracles like this don’t happen every day. Semi-colons and full colons! Full colon and its slightly less versatile half-sister, semi-colon, on an article of clothing. Be still my heart. (Actually, I think this sweater turned me on a little). It’s also lined in fuchsia, which is a colour that adds so much to my life. We won’t talk about what I paid for this little jacket, okay? It’s a little obscene.
But there are semi-colons and full colons on it.
I can’t wait for slightly casual Friday at school this week. If the kids don’t already know I’m fully saturated in nerdiness, this should confirm their suspicions.

I guarantee you will be the envy of everyone.
BTW, I know you have an appreciation for the written word; you might want to check out this link: http://vimeo.com/35404908
It brought tears to my eyes!
Thanks! You’re right about two things: my tears and my eyes.
*SWOONS* That is so cute!
(I think I met your grammar requirements…doubles checks and takes off a couple exclamation marks) 😉
Eeep! I wrote a clarifying post to the last one. Comments don’t really count for my whole anal-retentive spiel. I meant to refer to published writing and forgot.
Thanks for dropping in!
Thank you! I love it and the kids at school just rolled their eyes and commented that it must have been made just for me.
