It feels surreal to actually be typing this.
We are only ten sleeps away from sending our first little embryo on a tour of Auntie Stork’s uterus. He or she will decide if a 40ish week tenancy is the plan. If Auntie Stork’s uterus, which has been very carefully prepared, feels homey, our wee PiP (Person in Progress) will settle in and start to grow.
And we will be expecting our baby at last.
Wading through the gestational surrogacy process is the most exhausting thing I’ve ever done. Well over four years in, our fifteen potential babies are still in a freezer downtown.
Everything could change February 9.
After investing so much time, effort, energy, emotion, money, and all the rest of it, we can finally see the starting line to a possible pregnancy. It’s exhilarating. It’s also kind of terrifying.
We are so grateful to Auntie Stork for sticking with us on this path. She’s an incredible human. We also feel deeply blessed to have received support and encouragement from so many people.
If you’re a person who prays, please consider sending prayer our way.
If you’re into positive thoughts, or bright light, or songs to encourage fertility, or helpful voodoo, or gestation-themed interpretive dance, or pixie dust, or wishes, or fresh pineapple, or ovary of skink, or anything that might help PiP to decide he or she would like to become a person, we absolutely welcome and appreciate whatever you might want to send our way.
Love from our house to yours.
