To be honest, I think the lilacs were here all the time, snuggled up in the tree and waiting for the sunshine. I’m so happy to finally have lilacs: I’ve wanted a lilac tree for years and years, and now that I have the dollhouse, the lilac tree is a welcome bonus.

I don’t even like the colour purple: the colour, that is, not the novel. The Alice Walker book is fabulous.

The scent floats in through the kitchen window and makes even washing the dishes better. I wish spring could last all year.
