The Electrician and I went to Canmore with our families this weekend, which is one of our favourite places to vacation. It’s only a little more than a four hour trip to the mountains, and we never get tired of the incredible scenery and what my sweetie calls “crisp, fresh mountain air.” We were lucky that his sister and her little boy, as well as his parents, are all home at the same time from overseas this summer.

The Canadian Rockies are a fabulous place to elope. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day, from the weather on down the list.
We kept the whole works a secret until three weeks ago, when we asked our immediate families and a couple dear friends to join us in the mountains to watch us exchange vows. My husband (yippee!) and I have been working on our wedding day since the middle of April when our super secret matrimonial plan started taking shape. It was the best secret ever, and also the most difficult to keep to myself.

I’ll share more details in my next post, since I am off with my mister to row a canoe around glorious Lake Louise. I do, however, want to share the closing of our wedding ceremony with you, since it we used it as the motto to our day, and also feel it represents how we’ve felt about one another from very early in our relationship.
And what do all the great words come to in the end, but that?
I love you — I am at rest with you — I have come home.
